on a lighter note

Sick day at home.

It has been months since I have posted anything. Saying we have been sick is an understatement. We have been from Dr to Dr and specialist after specialist to figure out what the heck is going on. Since September Lilly has had a 2 week break from being sick. You are probably wondering when the lighter note is going to happen huh. I promise I will get to that. We are still waiting to find out what is going on, and honestly it could be just something she will grow out of, but for now all we know is she has a low IGG and are waiting on more blood test results. She is also on an Asthma trial. Soooo, as you can imagine we have been stuck inside for a great deal of time and it starts to weigh on a person. Last week my Mom braved seeing us and with her visit she brought us her newly published book “A deep sea fisherman’s journey”. (Check out her book here: http://homesketchhome.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-little-book-is-done.html).¬†We all love it for different reasons, and we all have our favorite pages. Finns favorite page is the very back cover. It has a picture of “Ya Ya” on it and he carries the book around and announces “De Ya Ya deer!” (Ya Ya is here!) pointing at her picture. This got my wheels spinning. So while he was napping today Lilly and I decided to make him a gift. We printed out a picture of Ya Ya and Pa Pa and cut out their heads. We then taped them to a piece of paper for lilly to draw their bodies. Now this is where it gets good. She wanted me to draw intestines inside my mom, then lungs, and other random bits. Don’t judge my anatomy drawing, cause I know it’s pathetic and I didn’t think anyone would see it really. She colored in all the parts and I cut it out laminated it and turned it into a magnet. Then came Pa Pa’s insides… She drew the body and she told me she had a surprise and I couldnt see it till she was done. She called me over and said “Look!!! Papa is pregnant with a baby Girl!!!” I was thrilled to say the least. What great news in the midst of all this crap. A true Christmas Miracle. It still makes me laugh. Ya Ya and Pa Pa are together on our dishwasher holding hands (I think because they are excited about the baby). When Finn woke up Lilly showed him the picture and he squealed with delight! He loved his gift and watching Lilly’s face was priceless. She could not have been happier. She told me later that it feels so good to give presents, and I agreed.

Happy Holidays!
