A magical day…

I was editing Lilly’s Birthday party photos when I came across these pictures and I took a slight detour to share a sweet little moment of our lives. A few weeks ago our dear family friends Karen and Andy had us over for lunch at her beautiful home in Duvall. The day was perfect and simple. We had a wonderful meal together and then went outside to play around. My Family is currently living in a very small 2 bedroom condo in Kirkland, so being outside with some space around us felt so good. I savor days like this and can’t wait to some day live off the beaten path and have some land to play on. Karen and Andy have a beautiful barn, garden, tire swing and puddles. What is not to love. Lilly got her first tire swing ride and I got to re-live a small piece of my childhood. There are few things that are better than jumping on a tire swing as an adult. Lilly explored the property with her rain boots and coat and the day will forever be burned into my mind as magical.

Karen showed Lilly how to splash really big in the puddle on our way to find frogs. Karen joined in too.

Lilly is checking the puddle for frogs. You never know…

We were trying to get a good look at the farm animals from next door, but no such luck.

This is something I always hope to remember: the way she hugs my leg.

Lilly reminded us to enjoy simple pleasures and you both reminded us of our own dreams 20 years ago, making us pause to be grateful for all that we have today.

Thank you for reminding us to appreciate the beauty of nature and the magic of children. X

I love the shot of Lilly hugging your leg. It is definitely those small things we have to treasure.
