Matilda Jane meets Lilly

We got this very special package in the mail today and the timing could not have been more perfect. My daughter has been very anxious, I’m sure like hundreds of other kids starting kindergarten. She has been telling me how overwhelming all this kids are at recess and lunch. I hadn’t realized it, but I think my daughter is more like me than I had thought. My silly, funny, bright,  light up our house Lilly, is introverted. The clues have been around for a long time but I was just not quite getting it. I have been a nervous ball of energy today as she went off to her 2nd day of kindergarten. Well, while Lilly was in school and I am sitting here working, and trying to focus beyond my concerns the FedEX guy drops off a package from Matilda Jane. I instantly lit up. The clothes are AMAZING, the quality, style and colors are so Lilly! I couldn’t wait to surprise her with these clothes and take her out to talk and take pictures of her in her new clothes. One of the interesting things about Lilly is she loves getting her picture taken, so this wasn’t just a win for me. I picked her up from school today to see a huge smile on her face and holding hands with her new friend Lucy. I asked her how her day was and she said “GREAT! I made a friend!” What a difference a friend can make in someones life. We went around town and talked about it all. She is just such an incredible little girl, I can hardly stand it.

Her sparkle is back.

I have to give a huge shout out to this incredible company Matilda Jane. They prize innocence, fun, and whimsy in all their collections. These pieces are from the “paint by numbers” collection, and Lilly is featuring the Plum Kitten Cardigan, Atmosphere Dress, and Wood Arrow Bennys (adorable ruffle pants). I’m completely smitten with these items, the collection and the company as a whole! Everything seems to be so artistically and well made (even the tags are beautiful). Both quality and creativity are present without giant logos blasting who they are made by. I can’t wait to order some clothes for myself as well (yes, they make adult clothes for grown ups who like to twirl too). I’m also hoping they accept my application to become a trunk keeper so I can spread the love with my friends and help keep our girls innocent for a bit longer.

Ashley – these pictures of Lilly are priceless! I am so glad she made a friend and these clothes are great too. Thanks for sharing your wonderful eye through your camera lens. We need to book a family session I have been wanting to get family pictures. You capture the feelings and memory not just a picture. You are so talented.
