Apple Pants

I’ve owned a sewing machine for two years.  This Christmas I finally learned how to thread it!  My mom gave me a copy of “Simple Sewing for Baby” and lots of lessons over the holiday.  These apple pants are the very first thing I made.  I’ve never aspired to be an amazing seamstress or anything, but knowing a straight stitch opens up a whole new world of crafting possibilities . . .

Taking a few measurements . . .

Apple pants:

Did I mention that I’m an auntie now?!?!  I can’t wait to get my hands on my new nephew, but in the meantime, I’m sending him these:

*Except for that cute helper with the messy hair and the smile.  I’m keeping her forever.

I own a sewing machine too and I don’t remember how to thread it either. My nine year old can sew up a storm though!
