Wednesday Moment

I’m not sure if I should call this post a moment, because it’s really just bits from our day and some fun crafts we did and technically not even a wednesday. : ) Tuesday morning I had a very early wake-up (5am), thanks Finn, and came into the kitchen to start making coffee, only to realize that our dishwasher had overflowed out the silver thing on our sink. You know, that silver nubbly thing with the holes. If you are a plumber or just happen to know the name of it please feel free to enlighten me. Well normally there isn’t anything on that counter space, but I had left my unread country living magazine there and it was soaked. I started carefully looking through the pages to get some quick inspiration before all the pages dried together. I found tons of great stuff in there but the one that I had to do right away were these cool bird decals. I know,  I “put a bird on it” portlandia style, and I have to say I’m loving it. Here is the link to the template I used: http://www.countryliving.com/cm/countryliving/data/windowbirds.pdf, and you can buy the clear static-cling window decal sheets at officedepot.com. But I couldn’t wait so I just bought white printable decals from office max and I stuck the birds in my kitchen.

Then for those of you who know me personally, this next ditty should come as no surprise. I felt the deep urge to laminate photos and make more magnets. I know, you are shocked. I really like the way these came out, but then again they are of my children so how could I not love them.

Now the next thing that happened was just pure luck. We were driving home from preschool and saw two dogs without owners walking on the sidewalk on a mission. I turned around and asked the dogs if they wanted to go for a ride, they of course said yes and hopped right in!!! I then called all the numbers on their tags and the owner was in spokane on vacation. The dogs had escaped the dog sitters house! We were thrilled to have them for two hours and they added a bit of excitement to our day. The real bummer was that Finn slept through the whole thing. Poor kid. He would have lost his mind with joy, because nobody loves dogs more than Finn.

Saidee and Alton: sister and brother. They were very sweet dogs.

You are so good to pick those doggies up! They are lucky dogs indeed.
