The Little House mania continues . . .

At this point, our obsession with the Little House books is well documented.  Earlier this summer, we packed up a couple of friends and spent the day at the Pioneer Village in Eatonville.  It’s a full hour and a half drive south of Seattle, but such fun.  Milking cows, jumping in haystacks, horseback rides, schoolhouse play, hand washing clothes, brushing wool . . . .

The part of me that grew up in Eastern Washington can’t believe that we drove for almost two hours and paid to do these things . . . but the part of me that’s raising kids in the greater Seattle area will probably do it again.

I wanted to get this post up before fall is over – this trip would be gorgeous in the fall!  We’re scheming all of our fall day trips around here, let me know if you have anything we shouldn’t miss!

As much as I LOVE the pics and enjoy seeing the kiddos reconnect with history, I have to say my fave. is the pig 🙂
Next time you’re east you should take the girls to the Pioneer Museum in Cashmere, it’s not as hands-on, but it is cheap and fun anyhow 🙂
